So far, we have explored various aspects of water, including temperature, management, and properties. Now, let's discuss how to verify these factors when selecting a water playground. In this article, we will gather the scattered information and establish practical criteria for finding good water.

Advertising Phrases Are Not Criteria

Water playground promotional materials often contain praise, such as "pristine nature," "clean water," and "good for the body." However, these expressions lack any real criteria, as anyone can use them, and there is no way to verify their accuracy. Phrases like "good for the body" or "beneficial for ○○" should be viewed with skepticism. Places with truly good water will show you the facts rather than relying on such claims.

Remember this principle: trust places that show numbers over those that use a lot of words.

Three Verifiable Signals

First, are there water quality test results? In our country, the water quality of swimming pools is regulated by law, with regular tests for factors like turbidity, residual chlorine, E. coli, and acidity. A good place will be able to show you these test results when asked. If they say they conduct tests but do not make the results public or give evasive answers, you should be cautious.

Second, how is the water managed? Ask how often the water is changed. Places that provide clear answers are more likely to be confident in their management. If the smell of disinfectant is too strong or the water is murky, you can also gauge the water's condition for the day.

Third, are the water's components disclosed? To discuss the properties of the water, there must be data on its composition. If a place publicly discloses the analysis results from an accredited institution, it provides a clear basis for trust in the water.

The Weight of Accredited Institutions

Here, we emphasize the importance of "accredited institutions." The reliability of water composition analysis varies greatly depending on who conducts it and how. There is a significant difference between a facility claiming "our water is like this" and an accredited testing institution providing verified results.

When discussing the composition of the water, look for the source of the information. If it is clear which institution conducted the test and when, it is trustworthy. If there are only numbers without a source, it is better to verify further. Places with good water do not hide the source of their information.

A Simple Method for On-Site Verification

If this seems complicated, we can use a simple method on-site. When you arrive at the water playground, dip your hand in the water and smell it with your nose. Check if the water is not too cold, if the disinfectant smell is not too strong, and what the texture is like when you touch it. With these three factors, you can sense the condition of the water for the day to a considerable extent. There is no more honest test than a parent dipping their hand in the water before letting their child in.

Additionally, we recommend checking the color and bottom of the water. Clear water will have a clearly visible bottom. On the other hand, if the water is murky and the bottom is not visible, it may be a sign that the turbidity is high, as mentioned earlier. Without expensive equipment, using just our eyes, nose, and fingertips, we can fairly accurately read the condition of the water for the day.

The composition of this water has been verified through analysis by the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources and the Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment. We plan to publicly disclose the results, along with their sources. After opening, we will manage the water quality of our pools according to legal standards and transparently disclose the details. Instead of asking you to trust us, we will provide materials for verification. We believe that trust is not obtained through words but by making information available for verification.
